About Mr. Police
Mr. Police has stood for the music of The Police and Sting since 1992. The first performance took place on December 18, 1992, at the Mulsum Rock Festival. Back then, the set consisted of 11 songs, performed live over 55 minutes.
Mr. Police was founded by Krummi / Andy K on lead vocals and bass, together with Mozart / W. Volkens on guitar and backing vocals. The original line-up also included Heiko Deutschbein on drums. Over the years, the initial Police set developed into an extensive live repertoire featuring songs by The Police and later also Sting.
Until 1999, Mr. Police consistently performed a Police-only programme. Following Andy K’s audition as a Sting double for Stars in Concert in Berlin — and from 2005 also for Legends in Concert in Las Vegas, USA — Sting solo songs such as Englishman in New York, Fields of Gold, and Desert Rose were added to the programme. As a result, the repertoire grew to around 22 to 25 songs, with a total programme length of approximately two hours.
Today, Mr. Police consists of Andy K on bass and lead vocals, Christian Schmutzer on drums, and W. Volkens on guitar and backing vocals. The current stage programme is performed live and designed for a maximum duration of 120 minutes.
In addition to the full band programme, STING II is available as a solo programme, featuring live vocals and live-played bass. The programme is designed as a semi-playback show and lasts up to 90 minutes, flexibly divided into two to three sets. Andy K also offers a solo / party special featuring a mix of Sting, The Police, U2, and hits from the 80s and 90s.
